Simon Cowell Wants To Turn Idol Into a Movie?
Simon Cowell has plans to turn American Idol into a new movie. The new film, Star Struck, will follow wannabes on a talent show. He explains:
“The story is told through the eyes of 10 contestants. We want it to be the musical version of Rocky - an underdog story, a feel-good film.”
Cowell thinks that if it reaches his expectations, it could be the next Fame. He said:
“Fame was all about young people wanting to be famous, and, in order to do that, they enrolled in a drama school. Everyone who wants to be famous today signs up for American Idol.”
Star Struck like Idol will be cast through holding auditions nationally and the film will openn with Cowell judging potential stars. I think he’s dreaming that this would turn out like Fame. Yuck. I’m not planning on watching it and my expectations aren’t very high right now.
