Kelly’s Out of Rotation Already? Ouch!

Kelly Clarkson’s first single “Never Again” from her new album isn’t doing so well according to program directors for New York City’s Top 40 stations. Tom Poleman revealed in the New York Daily News:

“We’re disappointed. The listeners don’t seem very excited. It’s done OK, not great.”

Tom Cuddy of WPLJ said:

“We finally dropped it [in the rotation]. Listener response just wasn’t there.”

And apparently, the prediction for Kelly’s next single isn’t much better. Poleman said:

“I’ve heard [it] and the potential isn’t that great.”

WLTW’s Jim Ryan claimed:

“You’re rooting for her to have hits, but if the listeners don’t love it, we can’t play it.”

I guess this American Idol is idle for now. Awww. Kelly must be so disappointed too, especially with her tour being canceled and now she’s out of rotation. It’s gotta sting eh? Ouch!

She thought she was too big too soon.

My guess is some people haven’t been paying attention to the Clive/RCA thing going on. The song rose and rose on charts and came to a screeching halt and was suddenly dropping like MAD on radio. Yet she was still #4 on itunes, her sales are still way up there for the song, yet radio isn’t playing it.. obviously the listeners want to hear it if the single has already sold 600,000. Nice try..

kelly is the shit

Everyone always says it’s better to have your success a little later instead of having right away. Like Justin Timberlake, he’s bringing in a lot more than before, and Hilary Duff, her new music is a lot better and her acting is getting more serious.

But maybe Kelly’s just in a bit of a slump, everyone gets them.
